i love music in general. my tastes are pretty eclectic, everything from old western swing to emo to techno to hard rock to bluegrass to classical and chamber music with indie being my favorite. i'm really in love with josh netsky, an nyc indie artist i recently found on jay brannon's myspace page. look for him in my top favorites and give him a listen, especially to 'disappear here'. you can find it here: http://www.virb.com/joshnetsky . it's the best new song i've heard in quite a while. check out the videos his younger brother adam makes they're pretty amazing, and even more so when you discover his age. a short snippet of a cover of sparklehorse's 'sad and beautiful world' by one of my favorite young actors, paul dano, can be found on youtube and in the movie 'the king' with gael garcia bernal, paul dano and william hurt. also, ANYthing else by sparklehorse...extreme's accoustic 'more than words'with gary cherone and the BEAUTIFUL nuno bettencourt playing guitar. i'm growing more fond of the band interpol all the time, too, especially after seeing 'lost in translation' and hearing 'not even jail' on the soundtrack. even more, i like their song 'obstacle 1'. i have an abiding love for the discordantly melodic, the well-turned lyric, and elegantly simple songs a voice and a guitar, for example.
