I am honest and fun :-)
THIS IS AN INTERVIEW SOMEONE CONDUCTED OF ME: What is the first Musical that you can remember? The Wizard of Oz at the age of three. Do either of your parents have a background in theatre? No What do you think got you to connect with Wizard of Oz? The Music, because I have loved to sing songs since I was very young and in my first fisher price tape recorder I would sing with my dad. Did you listen to anything other than Wizard of Oz at that age? No it was mainly Wizard of Oz at that age. When were you first able to see the Wizard of Oz? It started out with the book at about the age of 2 or 3 and I wanted to have all three, the book, the tape, and the movie. I can not remember at what age we got the movie, but I remember getting a VHS of it at the mall So what do you think the impact of the Wizard of Oz has been in your life, beginning with your childhood? I think that it really made me like musicals in general and theater, because I love acting and performing, so in school I was drawn to acting, theatre and the musicals. When was your first play that you were in? It was in first grade, called Anansi, which is African folklore and I was a bunny. So which was the first Musical that you were in? That would be Wizard of Oz, when I was in 10th grade. How did it make you feel to finally be part of the Wizard of Oz? It was fun. It was not through the school that I was attending, but a community college a half hour away from my house. So did you listen to other music other than musicals? Not really but a little bit. I am more into Frank Sinatra type songs, and Judy Garland, which is the lady that sang as Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. When did you begin to listen to Judy Garland and others of that genre? In High School, I downloaded the songs. I then put them on cd. I also listened to Old Time Radio Shows. How did you get into Old Time Radio Shows? I was trying to download “The Cat’s in the Cradle” by Cat Stevens on Napster when I was around 15. I downloaded on accident Vincent Price the Price of Fear Cat’s Cradle, which was an Old time Radio show. I then fell in love with it, and found out that there was a man named Jim French in Seattle, which is a half hour from my house. I listened to it on the radio and later was able to go with some friends to see a live recording. My friends and I did live improv radio shows, and now I am into Improv here at BYU I SO when did you start improv in your life? In 9th grade we played improv games in my first drama class, and then went to some Comic Frenzy workshops here at BYU I where they taught students how to do improv. I then returned from my mission and went to some Academy of Comedy improv workshops, and then my dream came true and I was able to actually be a part of Comic Frenzy. So what would you like to do with all of this in the future? I want to continue doing improv and I want to perform. What is your large-scale dream? Be a performer of some sort.
